TUMISANG OREBONYE, IQRAAM RAYNERS AND OTHERS TOPPING NASREDDINE NABI’S KAIZER CHIEFS SHOPPING LIST

Amid the exits of players like Keagan Dolly, Sifiso Hlanti, Siyethemba Sithebe, Njabulo Ngcobo and Jasond Gonzalez from Amakhosi, it's clear that Nabi and his technical are set on reshaping the squad and ushering in a new era at the club.

Speculation abounds with reports linking various players to the Glamour Boys, including those who have previously worked under Nabi's guidance.

As the club prepares to announce Nabi's arrival, GOAL takes an in-depth look at which players are topping Nabi's list.

Rushwin Dortley - Cape Town Spurs

Dortley's versatility makes him a thrilling prospect for Amakhosi if they secure the Urban Warriors player.

The South African youngster excels both as a centre-back in a back three and as a left full-back. With Edmilson Dove in need of fresh competition, Dortley could be an ideal addition to the Soweto Giants squad.

Oswin Appollis - Polokwane City

Appollis had an exceptional season with Polokwane City, where he showcased his talent by scoring seven goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances.

His stellar performances not only earned him a call-up to Bafana Bafana but also captured the attention of multiple PSL clubs eager to secure his services.

At just 22 years old, he has proven himself as a promising talent with the potential to make a significant impact in South African football.

Vincent Pule - Free agent

Having recently parted ways with Orlando Pirates, the 32-year-old is no stranger to speculation linking him with the Glamour Boys.

Even before his move to the Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits in 2018, Pule was a subject of interest for Chiefs.

Now, with his time at Pirates concluded, Chiefs might seize the opportunity to sign the seasoned star, bringing in a player with a wealth of experience and potential impact.

Stanley Nwabali - Chippa United

The Nigeria international caught the eye of the Glamour Boys after his standout displays for the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Known as one of the Premier Soccer League's top goalkeepers, Nwabali is seen as an ideal successor to the departing Itumeleng Khune.

However, Chiefs would need to make a significant investment, reportedly around R30 million, to secure the shot-stopper.

Iqraam Rayners - Stellenbosch

The Stellies striker stood out as one of the top performers in the PSL this season and has been a target for Chiefs since April. With 15 goals in 28 games, the South African international narrowly missed out on the league's golden boot, trailing only Tshegofatso Mabasa's tally of 16 goals for Orlando Pirates.

Rayners has the potential to address the Soweto giants' scoring woes next season under Nabi's leadership.

Lebo Mothiba - Free agent

The South Africa international is now a free agent following his departure from French Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg.

Mothiba, who previously starred for Lille and spent six years at Strasbourg, including winning the League Cup in 2019, saw his contract expire on June 30.

Chiefs should act swiftly to secure Mothiba's signature, adding much-needed experience to their squad for the upcoming season.

Tumisang Orebonye - AS FAR Rabat

Amid swirling reports, Nabi might reunite with a familiar figure from AS FAR, Botswana's striker Tumisang Orebonye.

Orebonye linked up with Nabi at AS FAR earlier this year from Algerian club USM Alger on a short-term contract.

With his future currently uncertain at the Moroccan outfit and no new deal announced, Nabi could entice him to make the move to Amakhosi.

Mohamed Rabie Hrimat - AS FAR Rabat

The Rabat captain is among the players rumoured to join Nabi at Chiefs, although neither the coach nor the player's agent have confirmed these reports

Nevertheless, given Nabi's ambition to usher in a new era at Chiefs, it wouldn't be unexpected for him to recruit players he knows can change the club's fortunes.

Chawanangwa Kaonga - Zanaco

The Malawian international has drawn significant interest from Naturena, emerging as a prime target for the Soweto giants due to his experience and versatility.

At 29, he excels as an attacking midfielder and can also fill in as a second striker, offering valuable flexibility to his coach's lineup options.
