LYNNMALL SHOPPING CENTRE IN WEST AUCKLAND EVACUATED AFTER ‘FAULTY FOG CANNON’ GOES OFF

A West Auckland mall has been evacuated after a “faulty fog cannon” was set off.

A shopper said police “swarmed” LynnMall in New Lynn.

A police spokesperson said a faulty fog cannon caused the evacuation and there was “no wider incident”.

The shopper said she saw a fog canon go off and the roller doors come down at Pascoes Jewellers about 11.45am.

A few minutes later alarms went off, the mall was evacuated and police arrived.

”Everyone’s been evacuated and police are swarming,” she said.

The Eagle helicopter is also flying overhead.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand are responding to the fire alarm activation.

Crews were alerted to the incident at 11.50am.
