MISSING MAN'S CAR FOUND NEAR WAIRARAPA BUSH WALK

A search has been launched for a man who could have gone missing in the Wairarapa bush.

Ben Fox, also known as Sam, was last seen at his Masterton home on Wednesday morning.

His vehicle has since been found on Mangatarere Valley Road near the Mangatarere Valley walking track.

Fox is of a medium build, 172cm tall, and has short hair.

Police and Land, Search and Rescue had been searching the area and were working to determine whether he entered the track.

A helicopter was also deployed today in the search.

Officers were appealing for information from anyone who may have seen Fox's white 2013 Subaru Impreza on Mangatarere Road between Wednesday morning and Thursday afternoon, police said.

They also wanted to hear from anyone who saw him on the Mangatarere track, or who had any information that could assist in locating him.
