TELL ME MORE

Lesotho and Seychelles have shared the spoils after a 1-1 draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday afternoon.

It was the Likuena who came flying off the blocks and got the breakthrough when Jane Thabantso scored in the 19th minute.

In the second half, Likuena piled more pressure on the Pirates, but they could not capitalise on their chances.

Seychelles equalised through midfielder Lorenzo Hoareau in the 69th minute. The two teams could not be separated on the day.

Lesotho and Seychelles are level on points in the Group C table. Angola and Namibia will face each other on Friday night.

THE MVP

Seychelles goalkeeper Romeo Padayachy deserves to be honoured for his outstanding showing on the day.

He made important saves to deny Lesotho a win as Likuena had several chances during the match.

THE BIG LOSER

Lesotho should be disappointed with the outcome, as they had opportunities to kill off the game in the first-half.

WHAT COMES NEXT?

Lesotho will face Namibia on Monday, July 1, 2024, while Seychelles lock horns with Angola on the same day.

The two teams will be hoping to make it into the knockout stages and go on to lift their first-ever Cosafa title at the end of the tournament.
