VICTIM ASSAULTED WITH 'OBJECT' ON AUCKLAND BUS, POLICE HUNT FOR ATTACKER
Police are searching for a woman who left someone with serious facial injuries in an attack on an Auckland bus.
The assault took place as the bus was travelling through Pakuranga about 9.15am on Friday.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant James Mapp said an unknown woman hopped on the bus and attacked the victim with an "object".
"This was an unprovoked assault, which left the victim with serious facial injuries," he said.
The attacker had fled from the bus before police arrived at the scene.
"We understand the fear and concern events like this inflict on the community and we will continue to pursue every lead to hold this person to account," Mapp said.
Police wanted to hear from anyone who had information.
